Blue but Buoyant
I love these seniors (and the rest of my students) and will be truly truly sad to have them go. At the same time, I am so super excited to go back to CA - especially to my family, friends, and church family! Woohoo!
I can't believe it's been over two weeks since I last posted...
First day of finals is over. Second day of finals is tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I will be failing some of my students.
Fortunately, by God's grace alone, most of my students will be passing!
Junotte informs me, "That's what happens when you teach."
She's been teaching me a lot, so have the freshmen.
I've been hanging out a lot at Mizpah when school gets out lately. You have no idea how much God has given me this amazing love for these kids. I call Manvis "mi hermanito" or little brother. Franky's been asking for advice. Teisy had her mom come meet me. We hang out, we laugh, we play fight, I try to make them finish their work, they distract me from trying to make them finish their work...
And...
We sing. Yup. Manvis, Franky, DS, and I will be singing "Your Grace Still Amazes Me" either at Baccalaureate or Graduation. Please, pray for us - I'm scared out of my wits!
The Lord continues to be sooooooooooooooooooooo unbelievably gracious to me, to my students, and to all those participating in His ministry here in Chuuk. He is so kind. He's gentle and hangs on to us whether or not we want to hang on to Him! Oh, how good!
Please, be praying for the following things...
...for all the students as they finish up their school - that they finish well and really feel a sense of accomplishment.
...for all the students as they begin to head out to do things for the summer - that the seed of truth from God's Word will be engraved on their hearts and they will choose, by God's grace, to do good and that which pleases Him.
...for these precious seniors, most who don't know where they'll be going or what they will be doing.
...for the teachers and staff to continue serving these students in love despite the students' work ethic.
...that I will have peace about flying back to CA for the summer.
...and that the Lord in His abundant and enduring love will continue to be gracious to me - He chose me, He saved me, He sanctifies me, and He continues to teach me more about Himself.
If I could give you each a hug, I would...
May the Lord be as gracious to you as He has been to me...
Love, Katie

I will be praying as you finish up your time in Chuuk. I am excited to see you, but know that it will be so hard to leave. :-( I praise God for all that God has done in and through you! I know that He will continue that work as you leave and then go back. I love you and miss you!!

Hi Katie...It is Memorial Day here in the great USA..JD and I just returned last night from my training at EE International at Coral Ridge Pres. Church in Fort Lauderdale...I had a terrific week...the clinic there was a first in that they hosted an adult( the one I was certified in), youth, and children"s EE all going on together. You would have had your little socks knocked off as kids as young as about 8 got up at the banquet and shared the entire gospel using scripture and cool hand signs. I was sooooo thinking of you because even the youth (h.s. age) are going all over the world to train other people in sharing the gospel!!! It was so exciting!! The EE headquarters is housed in the same buliding as Knox Seminary and I got to go out on OJT with one along with a young missioary in seminary in N.Carolina...oh, ny goodness, Katie, to go on OJT with two such Godly yo. men who were also as handsome as Greek gods..teehee...I was really thinking about your prayer request!!! There are wonderful Godly men out there..just keep trusting!! Anyway, there is so much I would love to share with you...I hope I get to hear from you when you get home.....Trust you sense our prayers for you too...Love Laurie B.
